The Table Worship – Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 5:30pm

We’ve got two great things going on this week with The Table. On Saturday, September 17th, many of us are volunteering for the Fairhaven Salmon BBQ, benefiting the Boys and Girls club. Then on Sunday, September 18th, The Table will meet at 5:30pm at the Fairhaven Library for worship. We’ll begin with a Salad Extravaganza. Feel free to bring something to share, including dessert. This week we’ll look at Mark 12:35-37.  Hope to see you Sunday!

Table Blessing – Saturday, September 17, 2011

Fairhaven’s Salmon Barbeque and Sidewalk Sale will be held Sept. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the Fairhaven Village Green. A portion proceeds will go to the Bellingham Boys and Girls Club. The Table is joining with other neighbor in volunteering for this event. If you are interested in helping out let us know soon.

The Table will be meeting for worship the next day at the Fairhaven Library, details to come.

Table Blessing – Saturday, August 20, 2011

Blessing Weekend is here! This weekend The Table is not meeting for worship, because will be out in the neighborhood. The plan is to meet on Saturday at 10:30am at Happy Valley School (1041 24th St.). From there we’d head out in groups to pray for the neighborhood, while picking up any trash we see. Afterwards, Aaron has invited anyone who can come to his place at Bellingham Cohousing to hang and eat.

Next week, we’ll gather for worship at the Fairhaven Library for worship Sunday at 9:30am.

Blessing – Sunday, July 17, 2011

This Sunday The Table will be joining Mosaic in a shared day of service. We’ll meet at the Majestic Theater (1027 Forest St, in Bellingham) at 10am, join in a time of prayer, and then go out to various service projects. It should be a great time to get to know our brothers and sisters at Mosaic, while living out our rhythm of blessing others. Call if you have questions (360.296.8048).

Hope to see you there!

Blessing – Saturday, June 18, 2011

This weekend at The Table we are taking a break from “worship” and will worship in service to others. It’s our Blessing weekend! If you can make it, we’ll be meeting in front of Chuckanut Square (the tallest red building in Fairhaven – 1400 12th St.) this Saturday, June 18, at 10am. The plan is to help some of the senior/disabled residents who need an extra hand with cleaning before their inspections. Feel free to bring general cleaning supplies (cleaners, rags, etc.); gloves and bags will be provided. Let me know if you can make it (for planning purposes), or just show up. Feel free to invite a friend to help out. Afterward, we’ll plan on catching coffee/treats at The Firehouse Café (1314 Harris), a couple blocks away.

Next Sunday, June 26th, is The Table’s one year anniversary! We’ll be celebrating at 9:30am at Glen Echo Garden (4390 Y Road, in the county), with worship, food, sharing, and hanging. This will be a great gathering to invite friends and family to, as we want to share about all that God has done over the last year. So don’t hesitate to invite whoever you’d like; we’d love it!

Ski to Sea Blessing

The Table and Mosaic had a great time this past Sunday helping out in the Road Bike-Canoe transition of the Ski to Sea Race. It was great to see Thane race in the road bike leg. The rest of us helped pedestrians avoid collisions with racers, directed racers on the course, and our very own Chris was “tapped” to be the public announcer in the transition area. It was a great, sunny day. Thanks to all who came out!

None Shall Pass

Ski to Sea Blessing – Sunday, May 29, 2011

This Sunday is the 100th anniversary of the Ski to Sea race. Ski to Sea is a 7 stage relay race starting a top Mount Baker and ending at Marine Park in Bellingham. In the spirit of our rhythm of blessing, The Table (along with Mosaic) is helping volunteer for the race. We are scheduled to work the canoe leg at Riverside Park in Everson, WA. It should be a fun day of service! If you want to help out, email The Table and we’ll hook you up with more details.  Hope to see you out there!

South Side Community Meal

Thanks for all who came out this weekend for The Table’s blessing event. We partnered with Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and the Happy Valley Neighborhood Association in serving/cooking for the Southside Community Meal. The chili we made was delicious and appreciated. Many neighbors came up to me expressing their thanks for our service and an appreciation for the conversations with folks from The Table. This is what our rhythm of blessing is all about. Getting to know neighbors while serving them in ways they appreciate.  I believe God was glorified and neighbors were honored this weekend. I am glad to be living life with friends who have such a heart of service and faith.

Blessings, Aaron

The Table Blessing – Sunday, May 15, 2011

It’s time to get our Blessing on! This Sunday night The Table is cooking and serving for the Southside Community Meal. This monthly meal is hosted by the Happy Valley Neighborhood Association and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, for the purpose of providing a time and space for neighbors to get to know neighbors. Because we are helping with the meal, The Table will not be meeting for a worship gathering this week. The meal goes from 5pm – 6:30pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (1720 Harris Ave.). If you would like to help cook/serve/set up/clean up/etc., send us an email. If you can’t help out but want to hang and eat, we’d love to have you there, too. Hope to see you Sunday!
